In the search to find more farmland as the east was becoming too crowded, settlers began to travel West. The people were looking for inexpensive land. Some traveled a route called the Oregon Trail. The trail was about 2,000 mile long. It started in Missouri and stretched west across the Rocky Mountains. The pioneers traveled by wagon in groups called the wagon train. They faced my hardships along the way.
